Ivanna Poliashenko completes mathematics degree in 14 months

Ivanna Poliashenko, a 19-year-old student at Georgia State University, has completed her bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a concentration in statistics in just 14 months. Poliashenko, a graduate of Woodward Academy, utilized Advanced Placement credits to cover a significant portion of her core requirements and worked with university officials to design an expedited academic plan.

To achieve this timeline, Poliashenko maintained a rigorous schedule, taking between six and eight courses per semester. In addition to her coursework, she served as a tutor at the university’s STEM center and engaged in independent mentorship in abstract algebra with Professor Florian Enescu. The university administration supported her unconventional path, noting they had not encountered a similar request before.
