Ivar Stenberg scores twice in San Jose Sharks debut

Ivar Stenberg made a successful debut for the San Jose Sharks during the 2026 Rookie Faceoff, scoring two goals in a dominant 8-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Stenberg, the second overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, scored his first goal in the third period by redirecting a shot from the point. He added a second goal later in the period, finishing a fast-break play assisted by teammate Igor Chernyshov.

The Swedish forward previously played for Frölunda in the Swedish Hockey League. He participated in team practices alongside other prospects including Michael Misa and Chernyshov ahead of the tournament. The Sharks are scheduled to continue the Rookie Faceoff against the Utah Mammoth following their win against the Kings.
