Ivaylo Mirchev calls for pro-Western presidential candidate in Bulgaria

Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chairman of the 'Da, Bulgaria' party, has issued a call for pro-European Bulgarian citizens to prioritize a candidate's geopolitical orientation over party affiliation in the upcoming presidential elections. Speaking at a party meeting in Plovdiv, Mirchev emphasized that the next president must clearly support the country's Western orientation to resolve existing geopolitical contradictions.

Mirchev also criticized Boyko Borisov, leader of the GERB party, accusing him of undermining pro-European interests. He alleged that Borisov is effectively supporting the campaign of Radev and Yotova by criticizing pro-European candidates, suggesting such actions serve interests contrary to the country's strategic future.

Additionally, the 'Democratic Bulgaria' coalition discussed long-term strategies in Plovdiv, focusing on building local teams in preparation for the 2027 local elections.
