Ivica Dačić Unveils Monument to 37th Motorized Brigade in Rashka
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dačić attended a ceremony in the village of Rashka to unveil a new monument honoring members of the 37th Motorized Brigade. The memorial commemorates 60 soldiers killed, three missing and 186 wounded during the 1999 NATO campaign in Kosovo and Metohija. The monument was erected at the initiative of the Association of members of the heroic 37th Motorized Brigade, with support from the local municipality, and stands on the plateau in front of the primary school in Rashka.
Dačić said the monument “represents an expression of respect for those who served the fatherland honorably” and stressed that the sacrifice of the brigade’s members will not be forgotten. He added that the site will serve as a “quiet teacher of history” for future generations, reminding them of the values of freedom, responsibility and love of the homeland. The minister highlighted that preserving the culture of remembrance is a shared duty of both the state and the community.
