Ivica Zubac suffers ankle sprain during Pacers victory
Indiana Pacers center Ivica Zubac sustained a left ankle sprain during the first quarter of a game against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center. The injury occurred when Zubac stepped on Kelly Oubre Jr. while pursuing a rebound.
Zubac exited the game after playing seven minutes, recording two points, two assists, and one rebound. While an X-ray was negative, the ankle showed swelling, and he was seen leaving the arena on crutches. Head coach Rick Carlisle indicated it is unlikely Zubac will play in the upcoming game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Pacers won the matchup 136–109, led by Tyrese Haliburton’s 24 points and ten assists. The injury adds to the Pacers' current roster challenges, as T.J. McConnell and Ben Sheppard are also sidelined with injuries.
