Brazilian Serie D third phase set as clubs vie for promotion to Serie C

The 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D has advanced to its third‑phase knockout stage, with 31 of the 32 clubs already qualified. The sole remaining spot will be decided on Monday, 29 July, when Democrata‑GV host Ivinhema at the Mamudão stadium in Governador Valadares. Ivinhema, the lone representative from Mato Grosso do Sul still alive in the competition, previously won its second‑leg tie 3‑1 and therefore leads the aggregate.

Ivinhema also requested to postpone its upcoming third‑phase match against ASA‑AL to 6 July, avoiding a clash with the Brazil national team’s World Cup round‑of‑16 game. The rescheduling was approved by the CBF. All clubs that reach the third phase have already secured a place in the 2027 Série D, while the next round of matches is slated for 4 and 11 July.
