Ivirgarzama transport dispute leaves several injured
A violent clash erupted between the Trans Carrasco and 12 de Agosto de Vueltadero transport unions in Ivirgarzama, located in the Cochabamba tropical region of Bolivia. The conflict, driven by disputes over route control and departure schedules, resulted in several injuries, including the president of the Puerto Villarroel Municipal Council and a female union leader.
During the confrontation, which involved physical aggression and firecrackers, participants attacked the headquarters of the Federación Carrasco Tropical, destroying furniture, windows, and infrastructure. The violence occurs amid broader tensions within Bolivia's transport sector, as some regional federations have chosen to operate normally despite a national strike called by the Confederación Sindical de Choferes de Bolivia.
