Iván Calero Transfers to FC Karpaty Lviv Amid Ukraine Conflict

Iván Calero, a Spanish winger, completed his move from Cultural Leonesa to Ukrainian Premier League club FC Karpaty Lviv on Thursday after legal formalities and a substantial financial offer. The transfer reunites Calero with former Alcorcón coach Fran Fernández, now Karpaty’s manager, and with sporting director Asier Goiria, who previously worked with him at Real Murcia.

Calero spent only one season at Cultural, scoring three goals and providing five assists in 33 matches before ending a three‑year contract early. Karpaty, operating amid the ongoing Russia‑Ukraine war, begins its league campaign aiming for European competition.
