Iván Fresneda makes successful Spain debut amid rising transfer interest

Sporting CP defender Iván Fresneda has made a successful international debut for Spain during a Nations League match against the Czech Republic. Called up as a replacement for the injured Pedro Porro, Fresneda played the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 victory, recording an 88% pass accuracy and contributing significantly to the team's offensive and defensive transitions.

His performance and international status have direct financial implications for Sporting CP. Former player Francisco Barão noted that the club may look to extend Fresneda's contract, which is currently valid until 2028, to increase his market value. Barão suggested that given the interest from major European clubs, particularly from Spain, a future sale could potentially reach 50 million euros if the player maintains his current level of performance.
