Iván Morales joins Independiente on loan from Argentinos Juniors

Chilean striker Iván Morales has joined Independiente on loan from Argentinos Juniors, marking the club's sixth reinforcement in the current transfer market. Morales, 27, expressed high expectations for his new role, stating he aims to contribute goals and high-intensity pressing to the squad under coach Jadson Viera.

Morales arrives at a challenging time for the Avellaneda-based club, which is facing both economic difficulties and a search for better sporting results following the departure of Gabriel Ávalos to Olimpia. Former Independiente striker Silvio Romero noted the immense pressure of playing as a number nine for the club, describing the jersey as one of the “heaviest” to wear.

While Morales has experience playing various attacking positions, his recent form includes two goals in 18 matches for Argentinos Juniors. He is expected to participate in the upcoming classic match against San Lorenzo.
