Iván Pérez wins European squash bronze medal

Spanish squash player Iván Pérez won the bronze medal at the European Squash Championships held in Budapest, Hungary, from August 19 to 22. Pérez secured the third-place position by defeating compatriot Bernat Jaume in a closely contested five-set match, finishing 3-2.

Pérez reached the bronze medal match after a semifinal loss to the second seed, Swiss player Dimitri Steinmann. In the third-place playoff, Pérez overcame an early deficit against Jaume, eventually winning the deciding fifth set 12-10.

Jaume had previously been eliminated in the semifinals by the tournament's top seed and defending champion, Victor Crouin. This victory continues a streak of medals for Spanish players at the European championships.
