Iván Redondo identifies Extremadura campaign as his greatest professional failure

Political strategist Iván Redondo has identified his failure to help José Antonio Monago retain power in Extremadura as his greatest professional defeat. In an interview on the program ‘Plano General’, Redondo reflected on his career, noting that while he reached high levels of power in La Moncloa, the 2015 electoral campaign in Extremadura remains a significant setback.

Redondo, who served as the Director of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government under Pedro Sánchez between 2018 and 2021, also discussed his close relationship with the current Spanish Prime Minister. He described their bond as ‘sacred’ and characterized Sánchez as one of the most honest individuals he has known.
