Ivonne Ruiz proposes student transport subsidies in State of Mexico

Federal Deputy Ivonne Ruiz Moreno has proposed a Point of Agreement to provide financial support or free transportation for students in the State of Mexico. The proposal suggests a monthly subsidy of up to 400 pesos for students in primary, secondary, and upper secondary education, with priority given to those in situations of poverty or economic vulnerability.

The scheme aims to be implemented progressively across various transit systems, including Mexibús, Mexicable, the Suburban Train, the “El Insurgente” Interurban Train, and systems linked to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). The initiative calls for coordination between state, federal, and municipal authorities to ensure the benefit works across different modes of transport and transfers.
