Ivory Coast: $9.5 million investment boosts youth health and education

A partnership between the government of Ivory Coast, the Republic of Korea, and UNICEF has deployed $9.5 million to improve health and education services for adolescents and young people in the northern regions of Poro, Tchologo, and Bagoué.

In Korhogo, a new school and university health center (SSSU-SAJ) was inaugurated to provide specialized services, including sexual and reproductive health and prevention. Similar health infrastructures were also established in Ferkessédougou and Boundiali to ensure easier access to essential care in environments tailored to youth needs.

In Boundiali, the initiative included the construction of three new classrooms at Ibrahima Koné High School to increase student capacity and improve learning conditions. The broader program also focuses on rehabilitating classrooms and providing training solutions for out-of-school youth.
