Ivory Coast advances to knockout stage after 2-0 win over Curaçao

Ivory Coast defeated Curaçao 2‑0, with striker Pèpè netting both goals. The win moved the Africans to second place in Group E, finishing six points clear of the group’s bottom team.

The victory secures Ivory Coast’s first ever qualification for the knockout phase of the World Cup. In the round of 16 they will face the runner‑up of Group I, which will be decided between France and Norway.
