Ivory Coast beats Ecuador 1-0 in World Cup, Amad Diallo scores late

Amad Diallo entered the match as a substitute in the 56th minute and, in the 90th minute, struck a left‑footed shot from inside the penalty area to give Ivory Coast a 1‑0 victory over Ecuador. The win marked Ivory Coast's first World Cup appearance since 2014 and moved them closer to a knockout‑stage place.

Both teams hit the crossbar three times before the decisive goal. Ivory Coast's Wilfried Singo provided the assist, while forward Yan Diomandé created several chances. Ecuador saw its 19‑match unbeaten run end. The teams will meet Germany and Curaçao respectively on June 20.

Ivory Coast captain Franck Kessié and Ecuador defender Jackson Porozo each received cautions during the game.
