Ivory Coast defeats France 2-1 in friendly in Nantes

Ivory Coast overturned a 1-0 deficit to beat France 2-1 in a senior international friendly at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes on 4 June 2026. Rayan Cherki opened the scoring for France before halftime, but Guéla Doué equalised eight minutes into the second half and Amad Diallo completed the comeback shortly thereafter.

Kylian Mbappé played the first half for France without registering a shot, while the match also featured a tribute to long‑time French coach Didier Deschamps, whose tenure is expected to end after the upcoming World Cup. The result gives both sides a final preparatory test before the 2026 World Cup, with France placed in Group I (Senegal, Iraq, Norway) and Ivory Coast in Group E (Germany, Ecuador, Curaçao).
