Ivory Coast road accident leaves nine dead and six injured

A fatal collision occurred on the N'Zianouan-Bodo axis in Ivory Coast on Monday, October 5, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m. The accident involved a Mercedes transport bus and a HOHAM tractor truck at kilometer 125.

The Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs reported a provisional death toll of nine people, consisting of one woman and eight men. Six others were injured and evacuated to the Saint Jean Baptiste hospital in Bodo for treatment.

The Ministry has instructed the Bureau Enquête Analyse Accident (BEA) to conduct an administrative and technical investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the crash. Officials have urged road users to exercise greater caution and strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
