Ivory Coast sets date for Sport Merit Order ceremony

The ceremony for the Ordre du Mérite sportif ivoirien (Ivory Coast Sport Merit Order) has been officially scheduled for November 17, 2026, at the Hôtel des Armées in Plateau. The announcement was made by Adama Doumbia, the Secretary General of the Order and Director General of Sports.

During the event, Sports Minister Adjé Silas Metch will present distinctions to 65 individuals recognized for their contributions to the nation's sporting movement. The recipients include 40 knights, 20 officers, and 5 commanders. Selection was based on four primary criteria: sporting performance, contribution to sports development, commitment, and career achievements.

The scheduling follows a rigorous selection process involving calls for applications, dossier validation, and deliberations. The final list of recipients is expected to be formalized by November 9.
