IWC Schaffhausen announces Mercedes-Benz 140th anniversary limited edition watch

IWC Schaffhausen has announced a limited edition timepiece, the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet ‘140 Years Mercedes-Benz’, to commemorate the 140th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz’s automotive innovations.

The watch features the newly developed ‘Perpetual Calendar ProSet’ mechanism, which holds four patents. This system allows users to adjust the calendar both forward and backward intuitively using only the crown position, similar to setting the time. The movement, Calibre 82665, also includes a double moon phase display with high precision, capable of an error of only one day every 1,040 years.

Limited to 140 pieces, the 42mm stainless steel watch features a black dial with gold-plated hands and indices. The case back is engraved with the historic logo representing the 1926 merger of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie. This collaboration highlights the long-standing partnership between the Swiss watchmaker and the German automotive manufacturer, which includes engineering support for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team.
