Ixhuatlán Del Café distributes subsidized solar water heaters

In Ixhuatlán Del Café, 23 families received solar water heaters through the ‘Solución Solar para la vivienda’ program. This initiative is a collaboration between the Mariana Trinitaria association and the local municipal government led by Mayor Viridiana Bretón Feito.

The subsidy allowed beneficiaries to save approximately 50 percent of the market cost. Families invested a total of 95,477 pesos for the 23 units, which had a total market value of 192,000 pesos. The equipment includes various capacities ranging from 8 to 30 tubes and is designed to reduce reliance on gas and electricity while providing environmental benefits. The recipients include residents from Ocotitlán, Zacamiltla, Ixcatla, La Troje, Moctezuma, and the municipal seat.
