Ixtapaluca lights identified as festival balloons after UFO speculation

A formation of luminous objects observed in the night sky over Ixtapaluca, State of Mexico, sparked widespread speculation on social media regarding potential unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Videos circulating online showed a group of yellow and orange orbs moving in a synchronized line at a constant speed.

Investigations revealed the phenomenon was not extraterrestrial or digitally manipulated. The lights were actually Cantoya balloons released during the closing ceremony of the Festival Internacional Luces de Ixtapan. Due to strong wind currents that night, the paper and fire artifacts traveled together in a cluster.
