Ixtlahuaca amusement ride failure injures six people

Six people were injured following a mechanical failure of the “Traman” amusement ride during patron saint festivities in San Lorenzo Tóxico, located in the municipality of Ixtlahuaca.

Preliminary reports indicate that a mechanical malfunction caused a flash of fire, which led to the detachment of one of the ride's cars carrying the victims. Emergency responders and security personnel arrived at the scene to provide assistance, and the injured individuals were transported to a local medical facility for evaluation.

The incident has raised concerns among residents and attendees regarding whether the Municipal Civil Protection Coordination conducted the necessary inspections of electrical systems and safety mechanisms before authorizing the attraction's operation. While authorities have stated there is currently no confirmation of omissions or irregularities by municipal personnel, competent agencies will conduct investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident and verify if the ride possessed all required permits and safety certifications.
