IYC protests police crackdown, demands Amit Shah resign

The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) organised a protest in Delhi against the police's alleged use of force on students during the July 20 "Sansad Chalo" march to Parliament. Demonstrators marched from Kerala House to Jantar Mantar, carrying placards that read "Amit Shah Must Resign" and chanting slogans against the BJP-led government.

IYC national president Uday Bhanu Chib accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of ordering the lathi, tear‑gas and pellet‑gun assault and called for his resignation. He demanded an independent, high‑level inquiry supervised by the Supreme Court and accountability for the officers involved. Delhi Police responded that only minimal force was employed to control the crowd. The protest reflects heightened tensions over the handling of student activism in the capital.
