İYİ Parti criticizes Turkish economic management and youth welfare
The İYİ Party has released a series of criticisms regarding Turkey's economic management, focusing on a reported $17 billion fund crisis and the socio-economic struggles of the youth.
Through an infographic, the party illustrated the potential impact of the $17 billion, suggesting it could provide $1,000 to each of the 17 million retirees, fund housing for 280,000 families, or provide monthly rent support for one million households for three years. The party also noted that this amount is equivalent to building 12 hospitals on the scale of Bilkent City Hospital or covering the annual minimum wage costs for approximately 1.7 million people.
Additionally, İYİ Party Youth Branch President Oğulcan Bayram criticized the government's handling of youth affairs. He highlighted that Turkey leads the OECD in housing price increases and noted that the rate of youth not in education or employment (NEET) is projected to reach 26.3% by 2025, significantly higher than the European Union average of 11%. Bayram also pointed out that Turkish youth rank lowest in Europe regarding participation in cultural activities.
