Fahrettin Cevheroğlu, the İYİ Party District Chairman for Kızıltepe, has been detained following an alleged assault on his son-in-law, Muhammed Nakşioğlu.

The incident took place on August 13 in the Turgut Özal neighborhood of Kızıltepe, Mardin. According to reports and security camera footage, a group of approximately 20 people, including Cevheroğlu, his children, and relatives, entered Nakşioğlu’s courtyard by jumping over a metal gate.

Nakşioğlu, who was reportedly experiencing domestic issues with his wife, filed a criminal complaint after being beaten by the group. He stated that Cevheroğlu had previously made verbal threats and insults against him and his family. Medical reports indicate that Nakşioğlu sustained injuries that require more than simple medical intervention, including wounds to his abdomen and a torn shirt. Police have launched an investigation, and Cevheroğlu remains in custody.
