İyidere Logistics Port in Rize reaches 82% completion

The İyidere Logistics Port project in Rize's İyidere district has reached 82% physical completion. According to Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, the project is targeted for completion in the third quarter of 2026. The port is expected to serve as a major hub for large-tonnage vessels in the Black Sea basin and act as a critical component of the Middle Corridor, connecting Asia to Europe.

Sherafettin Aras, President of the International Transporters Association (UND), emphasized the need for an integrated logistics approach. He suggested that for the regional logistics center to be effective, it must combine production centers, port facilities, and transport links, including railway connections. Aras noted that such a model could reduce long-distance costs for regional transporters and support local employment by facilitating the movement of goods from western production centers to nearby countries via road.
