Iziwork outlines shifts in Italy's temporary staffing market

In an interview with Adnkronos/Labitalia, Domenico Di Gravina, director general of Iziwork by Promam, said Italy’s temporary‑staffing (somministrazione) sector is recovering after a period of contraction, while permanent hiring has declined for the first time in three months. He linked the trend to evolving EU regulations on staff leasing and direct stabilization by client companies.

Di Gravina urged recruiters to move beyond simple job boards, adopting structured communication that highlights company context, future development opportunities and both hard and soft skills. He noted that artificial intelligence is increasingly used to speed up processes, but warned that recruiters must critically interpret AI outputs rather than accept them passively, to avoid dependence and maintain human judgment.

Looking ahead to the summer, Iziwork is focusing on hiring for the hospitality sector (about 350 restaurant staff nationwide and 300 resort staff in Sardinia), retail sales (around 400 positions across Italy) and logistics warehousing (approximately 200 workers).
