Iziwork Survey Finds 75% of Italian Temp Workers Rate Agency Employment Positively

Iziwork Italia, part of the Proman Group, conducted an online survey of temporary (agency) workers in Italy between 30 April and 16 June 2026. The questionnaire was sent to 2,985 workers and received 1,083 responses.

Three‑quarters of respondents (75%) gave a positive or very positive assessment of their agency‑employment experience, while only 8.5% expressed dissatisfaction. Eight‑one percent feel protected by their agency, 83% rate contractual communication as clear, and 66.7% consider their pay adequate. A similar share (83.8%) view agency work as a good entry point into the labour market and would like to be hired directly by the client company. Seventy‑nine percent feel part of the employer, and 88.5% aim for a permanent contract.

The survey highlighted improvement areas: contractual stability (16.9%), communication and transparency (13.5%), remuneration (13.5%) and recognition of qualifications (11.2%). The sample was 60% female, 70% based in northern Italy, with the largest age group 36‑50 years (44.6%). Respondents mainly worked in metalworking, logistics and transport. Seventy‑three percent have been in agency work for less than five years, while 14% have over ten years of experience. Alessia Giorio, head of Iziwork Italy, said the data show that agency employment is now a pathway that offers protection and integration in companies.
