İzmir animal lovers collect 600kg of food for stray animals

To mark World Dog Day on August 26, animal lovers in the Karşıyaka district of İzmir organized a solidarity event to support stray animals. The initiative aimed to provide nutritional support for animals residing in two different living areas in Foça Bağarası.

Through the event, which featured music by DJ Funky Project, participants and donors via cargo and shipping collected a total of 600 kilograms of pet food. The collected supplies are being prepared for transport to the living areas in Foça, which house approximately 400 dogs and 70 cats.

Event organizer Neslihan Bekat noted that volunteers were struggling to meet the high daily nutritional needs of the animals alone. Bekat expressed the intention to expand these solidarity efforts to various other locations throughout İzmir to create a broader support network for animal shelters.
