İzmir announces new school shuttle tariffs for 2026-2027

The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has announced new school shuttle service tariffs for the 2026-2027 academic year, implementing a 20 percent increase in fees. The pricing structure is based on the distance between a student's home and school, specifically using the shortest route via bus or minibus lines and counting only the one-way distance.

For standard student transportation, the monthly fee for the shortest distance (0-6 km) starts at 4,228 TL. The maximum monthly fee for the longest distance (0-40 km) is set at 8,639 TL. For preschool and special education services, the 0-40 km rate is 9,874 TL. If a guide staff member is present on the vehicle, an additional fee of 25.49 percent will be applied to the base rate.

The municipality has warned parents not to pay any amounts exceeding the official tariff and advised them to report discrepancies to the ALO 153 Call Center. A digital system has also been established to allow parents to calculate exact costs based on distance.
