İzmir begins surface renovations on Kıbrıs Şehitleri Street

The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has commenced superstructure renovation works on Kıbrıs Şehitleri Street in the Alsancak district. These efforts follow the completion of essential infrastructure projects conducted by İZSU to prevent flooding and sea surges, as well as excavation work by electricity, communication, and natural gas providers.

The renovation focuses on replacing the street surface with durable materials designed to enhance pedestrian comfort and aesthetic appeal. In addition to the main street, several connecting streets, including 1477, 1478, 1479, 1480, and Enver Dündar Başar Street, have already seen completed upgrades. Work continues on Bornova Street to improve resilience against heavy rainfall and flooding.

Furthermore, sidewalk improvements have been completed on a 250-meter section of Cumhuriyet Boulevard, also known as the ‘Second Kordon,’ between 1479 Street and Kıbrıs Şehitleri Street. The municipality aims to create a safer and more comfortable urban environment for pedestrians, vehicles, and cyclists through these continuous 24/7 operations.
