İzmir celebrates Kültürpark's 90th anniversary with exhibitions and arts

İzmir is preparing for a significant cultural month in September, highlighted by the 90th anniversary of Kültürpark. To commemorate this milestone, the Ahmet Piriştina Kent Arşivi ve Müzesi (APİKAM) has organized the “Kültürpark 90 Yaşında” exhibition. Opening on September 5 at the Pakistan Pavilion, the exhibition traces the park's history from the reconstruction following the 1922 Great Fire to its role as a symbol of modernization and the İzmir International Fair.

The exhibition will showcase the park's architectural heritage, including its 1930s modern pavilions, and its diverse functions ranging from botanical gardens and zoos to sports facilities.

Alongside the anniversary, İzmir's cultural calendar features a wide array of performances at venues such as the Kültürpark Open Air Theater and the Historical Gas Factory. Notable artists scheduled to perform include Fazıl Say, Zülfü Livaneli, Mabel Matiz, and Hayko Cepkin, offering a diverse program of music, theater, and art exhibitions throughout the month.
