İzmir Citizen Assembly expands to 21 districts

The İzmir Citizen Assembly, an initiative by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, has expanded its reach to 21 districts following recent meetings in Buca, Bornova, and Kemalpaşa. During these sessions, residents discussed local challenges and formulated specific solution proposals through thematic working groups.

Key topics addressed across the three districts included healthcare, waste management, and sustainable transportation. Participants engaged in educational sessions regarding democracy, human rights, and citizenship before moving to policy discussions.

A total of 115 policy proposals were approved by citizen votes: 53 from Buca, 42 from Kemalpaşa, and 20 from Bornova. These local proposals are intended to be integrated into the broader İzmir Provincial Citizen Assembly to influence regional urban management.
