İzmir Ekonomi University hosts stained glass workshop
İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi (İEÜ) hosted a specialized workshop titled ‘Anlam Pencereleri’ (Windows of Meaning) to educate students on the importance of stained glass art in interior architecture and cultural heritage.
The program featured Professor Zsuzsanna Böröcz from the University of Antwerp, who also serves as the Belgian President of DOCOMOMO. Students from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, along with graduate design students, participated in the workshop. The curriculum included visits to the URCA Hot Glass Studio, Alemdar Vitray, Ege Vitray workshops, and the St. John's Church to observe stained glass examples.
Beyond the artistic training, the event facilitated academic cooperation. An Erasmus Blended Intensive Program (BIP) agreement was signed between İzmir Ekonomi University and the University of Antwerp. The institutions have agreed to hold their next meeting at the University of Antwerp in April 2027.
