Historical Cities Union holds 2026 assembly in Kayseri

The Historical Cities Union (TKB) held its 2026 Ordinary II Assembly Meeting in Kayseri, hosted by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality. The meeting brought together mayors and assembly members from various cities to discuss the preservation of cultural heritage and local governance.

Ankara Metropolitan Mayor and TKB President Mansur Yavaş emphasized the importance of protecting both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, noting that the union serves as a vital platform for sharing expertise and developing protection policies among 493 municipalities. Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç highlighted the philosophy of human-centered service and the responsibility of local governments to preserve their cities' historical identities.

In separate regional news, Efeler Municipality in Aydın has completed the Sempati Street Animal Care and Rehabilitation Center. The 26,000-square-meter campus includes modern medical facilities, climate-controlled enclosures, and a natural living area. Actor Emre Kınay visited the site, praising the project as a model for animal welfare and social responsibility.

Additionally, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality is conducting extensive road construction and infrastructure renewal projects across 17 districts to strengthen the region's transportation network.
