İzmir introduces sea bus trials and morning exercise programs

İzmir is implementing new initiatives to enhance urban mobility and public wellness through its maritime transport network. The city has launched trial runs for a new sea bus service, the ‘Susuzdede’, which operates on a strategic route between Bostanlı and Üçkuyular. This service aims to provide a faster alternative to traditional ferries and passenger ships, specifically targeting the reduction of travel times and congestion between the city's northern and southern axes.

In addition to transport upgrades, the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, in collaboration with İZDENİZ, has introduced the ‘Günaydın Sporu’ (Good Morning Sport) program. Twice a week, passengers on various ferry lines—including Bostanlı-Karşıyaka-Alsancak-Pasaport and Bostanlı-Konak—participate in guided exercise sessions led by professional instructors. These sessions focus on simple movements designed to support neck and spinal health, aiming to encourage active lifestyles among commuters.
