İzmir Mayor Cuts Yuvamız Preschool Fees to 2,500 TL

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay announced that the monthly fee for the Yuvamız İzmir Social Service Activity Centers will be set at 2,500 Turkish lira for the 2026‑2027 education period. The reduction follows previous cuts: the fee was 10,000 TL at the start of the 2024 term, lowered to 5,000 TL on 1 November 2024, then to 4,000 TL for 2025‑2026, and now to 2,500 TL. Tugay said the measure aims to ease family budgets and strengthen equal access to quality early‑childhood education, emphasizing the municipality’s “social municipal” approach.

This is the third fee reduction since Tugay took office, intended to make the preschool services affordable for all families while supporting the city’s goal of expanding opportunity and educational equity.
