İzmir Mayor Tugay urges Beydağ women to form cooperatives

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay conducted a surprise evening visit to the Erikli neighborhood in Beydağ to meet with local residents. During the visit, Tugay inspected a newly constructed village square, which was built following requests from the community.

Addressing local women, Tugay encouraged the formation of cooperatives to boost production of regional goods such as chestnuts, figs, and olives. He offered municipal support by stating, “Produce, and the purchase guarantee is from us,” emphasizing that both the metropolitan and district municipalities are ready to provide logistical and purchasing assistance.

The visit was attended by Beydağ Mayor Şakir Başaran and Erikli Mukhtar Burhanettin Uslu. In addition to discussing local development, Tugay invited residents to the upcoming 95th İzmir International Fair.
