İzmir Municipality provides agricultural support to 391 olive producers

The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has provided agricultural support to 391 olive producers in the Kemalpaşa district. This initiative aims to reduce production costs and protect crop quality and yield.

As İzmir accounts for approximately 20% of Turkey’s oil olive production, the distribution program includes essential materials such as olive harvest covers, Bordeaux mixture, diammonium phosphate fertilizer, and trap bottles for combating olive flies.

Local officials, including Selçuk Karakülçe and Kemalpaşa Mayor Mehmet Türkmen, met with farmers to discuss their needs. The program follows a roadmap established by the Olive Advisory Board and the Olive Workshop to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production amidst rising input costs.
