İzmir musicians collect half a ton of pet food at charity concert

In İzmir, local musicians and volunteers organized a charity concert to support two animal shelters, using pet food instead of traditional tickets for entry. The initiative successfully collected over half a ton of cat and dog food to assist the shelters with their nutritional needs.

Several musical groups and artists, including Pislick Kedi, Rüzgar Soner, Relics, Salt, Cenker Baydere, Crazy Eyes, Mahmut Yeşiltaş, and Volkan Kılıç, performed without requesting any fees or royalties. The event aimed to raise awareness about the need for sustainable care for street animals and to promote adoption over purchasing pets.

Bilge Berk, founder of the Uğurlu Patiler living space, noted that the facility houses approximately 250 dogs and expressed a continuous need for such support. Gökhan Özden, founder of the group Pislick Kedi, emphasized that the goal was to provide direct aid to shelters and highlight the challenges they face in maintaining operations through seasonal donations alone.
