Izmir prepares for widespread power outages and gas rollout on June 25

Gediz Elektrik announced that on Thursday, 25 June 2026, planned electricity cuts will affect 21 districts and numerous neighbourhoods across Izmir for network renewal and maintenance. Outages are scheduled at different times, for example 09:00‑13:00 in Aliağa, 10:30‑16:00 in Bergama, and 09:30‑17:00 in Baydağ, among many other localities.

In the neighboring district of Menemen, Mayor Aydın Pehlivan launched a natural‑gas mobilisation, beginning drilling work in Emiralem. The project targets 27 neighbourhoods, aiming to provide gas service, modern heating and improved living standards to residents.

Both initiatives are part of a coordinated effort to upgrade Izmir’s energy infrastructure ahead of the summer period.
