İzmir Renovates Aşık Veysel Open Air Theatre

The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, through its subsidiary İzmir Kültür AŞ and the city’s Fen İşleri Dairesi, completed a comprehensive refurbishment of the Aşık Veysel Open Air Theatre in the Bornova district. All 5,200 seats were replaced, technical infrastructure was upgraded, and the stage roof received maintenance. Cosmetic work included repainting, new landscaping with additional trees, and the installation of new food‑and‑beverage kiosks and a cafeteria. The venue also hosts a temporary library kiosk from İzmir Kent Kitaplığı Yayınları. The upgraded facility is scheduled to host a series of concerts and cultural events through at least November, with the program overseen by İzmir Kültür AŞ deputy general manager Mert Gönen.
