İzmir reports two fatal shooting incidents

Two separate fatal shooting incidents have been reported in the İzmir province of Turkey.

In the Tire district, 16-year-old Yiğit Can Bişkin died after being struck in the abdomen by a gunshot. Preliminary reports suggest the incident occurred when a handgun Bişkin was playing with accidentally discharged. After receiving initial medical attention at Tire State Hospital, he was transferred to İzmir City Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts. Police are investigating the circumstances of the discharge.

In the Gaziemir district, a 21-year-old man named Furkan K. was killed by his father, identified as B. K. (46), following an argument regarding the son's drug use. The father allegedly shot the son in the chest with a shotgun during the altercation. The victim died at the scene. The father subsequently surrendered to police at a station, bringing the weapon used in the incident with him. Authorities are currently processing his statement.
