İzmir Sanat Merkezi to host event on Yaren Leylek and Adem Yılmaz

The İzmir Sanat Merkezi will host a special event on Sunday, September 27, at 15:00, titled “Bir Dostluğun Tanıkları: Yaren Leylek, Adem Amca ve Alper Tüydeş.” The program focuses on the long-standing bond between fisherman Adem Yılmaz and a stork named Yaren Leylek.

The relationship began in 2011 in the village of Eskikaraağaç by Lake Uluabat when the stork landed on Yılmaz’s fishing boat. This connection has become an annual tradition every spring. Nature photographer Alper Tüydeş, who documented the story through photography and video, will lead a presentation and discussion regarding the documentation process and wildlife photography.

The event aims to explore sustainable relationships between humans and nature, wildlife awareness, and the importance of maintaining healthy distances to protect species. The program will conclude with a Q&A session and a book signing by Alper Tüydeş.
