İzmir sports clubs implement financial restructuring to manage debt

Sports clubs in İzmir are implementing financial restructuring measures to manage significant debts.

İzmirspor President Ali Koyuncuoğlu reported that the club has reduced its debt from 40 million lira to 30 million lira during his administration's first four months. The club is also monitoring the zoning process for its 38-acre facility in İnciraltı and exploring ways to convert previous management loans into donations to stabilize its financial structure.

In basketball, Karşıyaka has started the season with two wins despite facing approximately $1 million in debt. Club President Yiğit Tusder stated that the management has already paid 60% of the down payment for past FIBA debts and has cleared the debts of 13-14 players and coaching staff. The club's current priority is maintaining its roster and securing a position in the safe zone of the league to avoid the relegation struggles experienced in previous seasons.
