Izmir taxi driver returns 920,000 Lira sent by mistake
Celal Sarıoğlu, a taxi driver with 26 years of experience at the Izmir Bus Terminal, received an award for returning a large sum of money sent by mistake.
During a trip to Karşıyaka, a passenger intended to pay a 920 Lira fare via bank transfer but accidentally transferred 920,000 Lira. After realizing the error through his mobile banking application, Sarıoğlu immediately returned to the barber shop where he had dropped the passenger off to return the funds.
Erkan Özkan, President of the Izmir Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen Chamber, presented Sarıoğlu with an award in recognition of his honest behavior.
