Izmir (Turkey) to Experience Planned Power Cuts Across 11 Districts on June 7, 2026

On Sunday, 7 June 2026, the electricity distribution company serving İzmir announced a coordinated, planned outage affecting eleven districts: Bayındır, Bayraklı, Bornova, Dikili, Kemalpaşa, Kiraz, Menemen, Ödemiş, Torbalı and Urla. The outages will begin in the morning and run for several hours, with some neighborhoods experiencing up to eight hours without power. Specific time windows include Bayındır (09:00‑17:00), Bayraklı (11:00‑12:00), Bornova (09:00‑16:00), Dikili (09:00‑17:00), Kemalpaşa (09:00‑16:00), Kiraz (10:00‑16:00), Menemen (09:00‑15:00) and others.

Residents were warned to take precautionary measures, such as safeguarding electronic devices and limiting the use of electric appliances during the interruption. Detailed lists of the affected neighbourhoods and streets were published to help households prepare for the temporary loss of electricity.
