Turkey utility services face widespread scheduled maintenance

Various regions in Turkey are experiencing scheduled utility disruptions due to infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.

In İzmir, İZSU is implementing a 600 million TL investment to replace 40-year-old water pipes in Kınık and Poyracık. This 135-kilometer project aims to reduce water loss rates, which currently stand at 65 percent. Additionally, İZSU is conducting cleaning and reinforcement work on a 13-kilometer wastewater line between Mürselpaşa Boulevard and Bayraklı to protect the Gulf of İzmir. Planned water outages are also affecting several İzmir districts including Bayraklı, Foça, Karabağlar, and Menemen.

Electricity distribution companies UEDAŞ and GDZ Elektrik have announced widespread planned power outages. In Balıkesir, 15 districts are affected by network works. In Bursa, 13 districts face outages due to maintenance. Other areas including Ankara, Alanya, and various İzmir districts like Bornova and Urla will also see scheduled electricity interruptions.

Public transportation in İzmir is also seeing adjustments. ESHOT has announced route changes and station closures in Konak due to natural gas works, as well as route modifications in other areas due to asphalt paving. Some lines will provide continuous service during the Kavacık Grape Festival.
