Izquierda Unida proposes budget increases for Puertollano animal shelter

The Izquierda Unida (IU) municipal group in Puertollano has presented a series of proposals for the 2027 municipal budgets. A primary focus of the proposal is increasing the funding for the Huellas animal shelter to 120,000 euros, as the group argues current levels are insufficient to ensure proper care and attention for animals.

In addition to animal welfare, IU is advocating for increased support for sociocultural associations and collectives to facilitate year-round activities. The group’s broader platform includes strengthening social services, promoting the Plan Corresponsables throughout the year, and removing bullfighting shows from the municipal programming. The proposals aim to bolster public services, citizen participation, and social cohesion.
